The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Major League hockey reached Buffalo in 1970 and after several years of coaching in the minors for the Toronto Maple Leafs and a stint in Vancouver, Joe Crozier joined his old friend Punch Imlach in the Sabres' organization. Crozier and Imlach are among those whose photos are inserted above the '71-72 team photo, with Crozier being listed as "acting coach". Early Sabres Crozier, Dryden, Shack and Hillman join the likes of Perreault, Martin, Ramsay, Luce, Lorentz, Robitaille and team captain Meehan in a tasteful display done in Sabres' colors by Shaver Studio. A similar big display from '73-74 sees Crozier as coach in the front row. Added to the mix that brought excitement to Sabres' fans and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup finals the following season are Robert, Schoenfeld, Dudley, Korab, Spencer and Carriere. The memory-provoking photos are in excellent condition and will come with Joe Crozier's signed LOA.
