The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
After pulling into a tie with Phil Esposito a week earlier, Marcel Dionne scored NHL career goal number 718 on Sunday, February 14, 1988 to take over sole possession of 2nd place on the all-time goals list. Marcel did it at Madison Square Garden with this puck as he opened the scoring at 2:33 of the 1st period, beating the Islanders' Kelly Hrudey, the assists going to James Patrick and Walt Poddubny. The InGlasCo Rangers game puck then had a piece of white tape applied and "718" added in ballpoint. The puck shows light game use. Later, Dionne scored another power play goal to give the Rangers a 4-4 tie with the Islanders. Marcel will sign a LOA that will be included with this history-making goal puck.
