The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Mainly because of a rare injury that made him miss 14 games, Marcel Dionne saw his consecutive 50-goal season streak stopped at 5 in 1983-84 but it didn't stop his ascent up the all-time goal scoring list. This is the puck Dionne used to score career goal number 545 to pass the legendary Maurice Richard and move into 5th place. His 1st goal of the season was scored on the power play on Minnesota's Gilles Meloche and sent the game into overtime. The date was October 5th with the game ending in a 3-3 tie. The Kings game puck had the back logo rubbed off and replaced with gold ink detailing the history-making goal. Puck shows nice game use but is chip-free. Marcel Dionne, who later that season passed Johnny Bucyk for 4th place, will sign a LOA that will be included with this significant goal puck.
