The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Marcel Dionne's staggering career numbers continued to rise during the 1985-86 season, his 15th in the NHL, as he moved into 2nd place on both the all-time assist and point lists. The extraordinary playmaker reached the 900 assist plateau on Saturday, January 11th in St. Louis while leading the Kings to a 4-4 overtime tie with the Blues. It happened at 12:13 of the 1st period as Marcel and Joe Paterson helped Dave Taylor open the scoring. Dionne would later score his 20th and 21st goals of the year, giving him 15 straight 20-or-more goal seasons. The Approved InGlasCo Blues puck used to record assist #900 shows nice game use and had a piece of white tape reading "900 Assit" applied to the back. One of the greatest small men ever to lace up a pair of skates will sign a LOA that will be included with this terrific milestone biscuit.
