The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
The milestone that all great goal scorers set their sights on as it becomes attainable was reached by Marcel Dionne during the 1982-83 season, one that saw Dionne hit the 50-goal mark for a 5th straight year. This is the puck Marcel beat Washington goaltender Al Jensen with for his 500th NHL goal, becoming only the 9th player to join the select 500-goal club. The goal came Tuesday, December 14, 1982 in Landover, Maryland. Dionne's 12th of the season at 3:00 of the 1st period opened the scoring. Assisting on the historic goal were Ulf Isaksson and Jerry Korab. Another Dionne goal later in the game tied it at two, but Washington went on to a 7-2 win. The Capitals Approved InGlasCo game puck (on a Viceroy slug) that Marcel scored #500 with had a piece of white athletic tape added with "500th" written in ballpoint. The tremendous memento from a grand career will come with a LOA signed by Marcel Dionne.
