The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
In 1978-79 the NHL witnessed the birth of one of the most productive lines in history as Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer joined Marcel Dionne to form the wicked Triple Crown Line. The threesome "clicked" time and again and Dionne recorded a career high 59 goals while finishing with 130 points. Marcel again walked away with considerable hardware at season's end. Two massive trophies tower 40" high and each include four pillars which support a covered cup on top of which stands a women statuette. A golden hockey player atop a covered bowl is on the base of each award, the engraving on which indicates Marcel received them for being leading scorer and most popular player. The trophy in the middle stands 26" and was awarded to Dionne by the L.A. chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association as Kings MVP. An attractive wooden base includes a nicely engraved brass plaque and supports a covered cup, a globe of the world and a golden hockey player. The sensational trophies are in excellent or better condition and will be accompanied by a signed LOA from the Kings' all-time greatest performer.
