The Marcel Dionne's Auction - October 2004
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/19/2004
Superb trio of trophies spans two seasons and were presented to Marcel Dionne for his prolific and exciting play. The Alta Dena Leading Scorer Trophy for the 1975-76 season stands 26" high and features a handled cup at the top that sits on a base that includes the image of a bald eagle and the U.S. stars and stripes. Dionne rifled home 40 goals and 54 assists in his first season with the Kings. The following year saw Marcel hit the 50-goal mark for the first time while collecting a personal best of 122 points. The '76-77 Alta Dena Leading Scorer Trophy and the similar Schlitz/Los Angeles Kings Trophy for most 1st stars are huge 30" high affairs that are capped off by winged women statuettes atop covered handled cups. Two figural hockey players and Lanshire electric clocks are also featured, the clocks making for trophies that should be plugged in! Three of the five players on these three trophies are missing their hockey sticks, otherwise the towering awards have been preserved in excellent-plus condition. A letter of authenticity signed by Marcel Dionne will be included.
