A product of the Ontario Hockey League’s Sarnia Sting and Toronto St. Michael’s Majors who
would go undrafted, Michael Haley would go on to play a total of 274 games in the National
Hockey League with the likes of the New York Islanders and Rangers as well as the San Jose
Sharks, Florida Panthers, and Ottawa Senators. An enforcer by trade who spent 692 minutes in
the penalty box in his career, this Sharks jersey was worn by Haley during the 2016-17 season
of play.
Made by Reebok, a size “56” label is affixed to the inner collar while the crests of both the NHL
and Reebok adorn the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front and
shoulders with a trio of Sharks team crests displaying embroidered details throughout. Styled over the sleeves and verso
with Haley’s number “38” in dual layer teal-over-black tackle twill numerals, “Haley” is spelt out
in matching style letters across the affixed nameplate at the top of the reverse. The fight strap is
affixed to the back of the inside of the jersey. A team patch located inside the reverse hem reads
“HALEY-38-0” and includes the name of team equipment manager Mike Aldrich as well as dates of issue "9-26-16" and date of expiration "12-11-16".
The jersey displays noticeable game use, stick marks are visible at the bottom front of the jersey.
The right sleeve has a few small stick marks, with a minor board burns on the elbow. The left sleeve
has similar marks and board burns.
The black stick mark on the front of the jersey is photo-matched to Getty image number 624623066 and 624456900.
