Not producing a traditional baseball card set for the first time in four (4) years and with some collectors hesitant to collect them, the 1937 Goudey Wide Pen Baseball Premiums R314 release while often called cards, are actually miniature photographs but because they are categorized in the American Card Catalog, though, they are often pursued by card collectors. On a thinner paper stock and easily damaged, offered here is this near-complete set of the 1937 Goudey Wide Pen Baseball Premiums R314 Type 5 (International League) release that includes twenty-nine (29) of the thirty-nine (39) photos making up the checklist. All images of players that played on Canadian based International League teams, includes are those of; Buddy Bates, Del Bissonette, Ike Boone, Johnny Burnett, Leon Chagnon, Gus Dugas, Art Funk, Mickey Heath, Leroy Herrmann, John King, Eddie Miller, Jake Mooty, Hiker Moran, George Murray, Glenn Myatt, Lauri Myllykangas, Tom Oliver, Bill O'Brian, Lou Polli, Harlin Pool, Walter Purcey, Ben Sankey, Les Scarsella, Shag Shaughnessy, Ben Tate, Fresco Thompson, Henry Johnson, Charles Wilson and Whitey Wistert, all are seen as being in the overall grade range of EX to EX-MT except for one (1) card that has a tiny rust colour stain on the front, three (3) cards that have tiny rust colour stains on their backs, one (1) card that is very dirty with black smudges on the reverse, three (3) cards that have a small smudge on their reverses and finally, one (1) card that has corners that are worn and a faded image over its front. Additionally, the lot also includes four (4) 1936 Goudey Wide Pen Baseball Premiums R314 Type 2 offerings of names such as Mickey Cochrane, Charlie Gehringer, Bill Rogell and Jo-Jo White which are all seen as being around EX-MT for their efforts with very slight corner wear over all four (4) that is worth noting for accuracy.
