Ted Kennedy was the heart and soul of the Toronto Maple Leafs during their golden era,
embodying leadership and clutch play throughout his career. Making his NHL debut in 1943 at
just 17 years old, Kennedy quickly established himself as a force on the ice. He helped lead the
Leafs to five Stanley Cup championships (1945, 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1951), becoming the
first player in NHL history to captain his team to three consecutive titles. Renowned for his
faceoff prowess and tenacious two-way play, Kennedy was named team captain in 1948 and
held the role for eight seasons. In 1955, Kennedy was awarded the Hart Trophy as the league’s
most valuable player, underscoring his all-around dominance and leadership. He retired with
560 career points in 696 games and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1966, forever
etched into Maple Leafs history as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.
This Ted Kennedy rookie card, graded PSA 7, is one of just 50 at this grade, with only 29
graded higher out of 290 submissions. The treasure is housed in a PSA holder that exhibits a few fine scratches but which overall remains in
excellent condition, a prized artifact for any dedicated collector and Maple Leafs fan.
