Appearing for half of his 14-season NHL career in the sweater of the famous Montreal Canadiens, Bill Hicke debuted for the unstoppable Habs in 1958-59, winning a pair of Stanley Cup championships with the club while also making two NHL All-Star Game appearances. Later seasons would be spent with the Rangers, Seals and Penguins, with Hicke also serving as an inaugural member of the WHA’s Alberta Oilers. Spending 137 of his 729 games in the National Hockey League with the Rangers, offered here is this stick used by Hicke during his time in New York during the 1965-66 season. A Northland Pro model twig with "Hicke" stamped over the topside of the shaft, additional stamps from both "Gerry Cosby & Co." as well as "Northland Ski Mfg Co." appear over both sides of the shaft as well. Retaining its original tape job of white around the knob and black around the toe area of the blade, the stick has had "Hicke" penned to the bottom of the blade near the heel and still sports a pair of intact striping accents around the bottom of the shaft. Displaying dark marks and some abrasions throughout the length of the shaft, lower shaft, heel and blade, the stick has been team-signed by seventeen (17) in black marker ink over the forehand side including HOFers Giacomin and Howell as well as Hadfield, Seiling, Goyette, Marshall, Fleming, Robinson, Mickey, Ingarfield, Plager, Hillman, Brown, Nevin, Hicke and Peters as well as one other that couldnt be identified. All legible despite some fading from age, don't miss out on this relic from the final years of the NHL's Original Six era.
