The ultimate document detailing every one of Maurice Richard’s 544 regular season and 82 playoff goals is one that was done back in the 1960’s and will tempt Rocket collectors and statistics buffs alike. Beginning with his first career marker, an unassisted effort scored on the Rangers’ Steve Buzinski on November 8th, 1942 and continuing through to his 544th against New York’s Al Rollins in March of 1960, the dates and times and names of players who drew assists are all there, along with the names of Rocket’s victims. An accompanying three-page document summarizes how many goals the legend scored against each team, how many times each opposing goalie was scored on (Harry Lumley leads the way at 88) and who helped out the most (Elmer Lach with 159 assists). Details of the Rocket’s playoff goals will also prove invaluable for hockey historians. Pages are 8 1/2” by 14”, bound together with string and with green covers and in excellent condition.
Also included is a single sheet originally obtained from the Maurice Richard estate that outlines his basic income and deductions for 1953. It is dated October 20, 1953 and includes information such as his salary, playoff bonus, and pension deductions. This lined piece of paper from a note pad measures 6" x 9" and is in good condition. A couple of neat pieces from one of the NHL's all-time greats.
