Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Recognized as one of early hockey's greatest minds with many of his innovations to the game still used, Lester Patrick played for a number of legendary teams including the Montreal Wanderers and Renfrew Creamery Kings before forming the PCHA and serving as guru with the New York Rangers. Hailing from the first hockey card set ever issued when Patrick and his brother Frank were starting up the Pacific Coast Hockey Association, up for grabs here is this copy of Lester’s 1910-11 Imperial Tobacco C56 rookie card that has earned a highly respectable grade of EX-MT 6 after its recent inspection at PSA. Showing with toning over the front but vivid/bold colours, sharp corners and pleasing centering, it should be pointed out that 149 examples of this card have been examined by PSA over the years with this pop-8 example only bettered by four (4) cards graded higher; one (1) PSA 7 Q, two (2) PSA 7’s and one (1) PSA 7.5 giving you a truly remarkable example. Housed in a fresh PSA holder that is in excellent condition, don't miss out on this one!
