Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Pictured over the front of his famed rookie card wearing his red coloured high neck Renfrew Creamery Kings sweater, the 1910-11 season saw Fred "Cyclone" Taylor post twelve (12) points in sixteen (16) games played. A two-time Stanley Cup champion who would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1947, offered here is freshly graded copy of Taylor's first year card that was released as part of the 1910-11 Imperial Tobacco C56 release. A scoring machine that wowed fans with his skill and speed, this particular copy has been assessed a mark of VG-EX 4 for its effort, retaining excellent colours, pleasing centering and corners that still show some sharpness despite the age of the card itself. Also sporting fairly even moderate toning over both sides, with the reverse listing Taylor's career teams up to that point, the card is a POP-22 example on the PSA POP Report and is housed in a fresh PSA holder that displays without issue. A fantastic card to look at while contemplating the career of one of hockey's legendary figures, don't let your esteemed vintage collection go without this one!
