Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Officially founded in 1945 but sporting a history that goes all the way back to roughly the 1890s, the Calgary Stampeders have been an institution in Canadian football throughout that time and have won a total of eight (8) Grey Cup championships over that time. Owning an alumni list that is a mile long with nineteen (19) players and two (2) coaches and contributors inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Offered here, we present this collection of three (3) game-worn and game-issued Calgary Stampeders jerseys that date from 1999 to 2022. Made by a trio of different brands including Starter (Bronzell Miller - 1999), Adidas (Love - 2016 Pre-Season) and New Era (Banks - 2022 alternate), the jerseys each sport brand logo patches affixed to either their sleeves and/or necklines while the examples of Miller and Banks feature jock tags sporting size designations affixed to their front hem's (the Miller is a size "42" with four extra inches of body length and also has had a "99" year swatch added alongside the Starter/CFL jock tag while the Love jersey features an Adidas size "42" label along with another indicating that 3" have been taken off the body length). Additionally, the Banks jersey sports a size "44" label on its interior. All decorated with Stampeders logos and icons in either sewn on twill style and accented over the front and reverse (as well as the sleeves in the case of the Miller jersey) in either sewn on layered tackle twill numberals or screened on dual layer numerals, CFL league crests appear at the base of all three (3) collars. With all three (3) jerseys having had the names of the players that wore them spelt out in either layered tackle twill or heat pressed on single/dual layer letters across the affixed matching nameplates at the tops of the reverses, it is important to note for accuracy that the white layer of the letters spelling out "Miller" are peeling away. In terms of game-use, both the Love and Banks jersey show wear via things like hit marks and paint transfers while the Love jersey also has a small repair over the while. Additionally, the Miller jersey shows no game-wear and is being listed as only a game-issued example (Miller only played one game during the 1999 season and it is not known if that game was played in the red jersey or not).
