A trio of O-Pee-Chee hockey sets from the 1970s, all needing completion, is offered in this lot with the details of each near complete set listed below.
1970-71 O-Pee-Chee near complete card set (246/264); set is missing 18 cards, most of which are the better cards, cards missing for completion are; 3-Orr, 22-Mahovlich, 24-Checklist, 29-Howe, 50-Cournoyer, 55-Beliveau, 132-Checklist, 153-Esposito, 176-Richard, 177-Lapointe RC, 195-Clarke RC, 218-Sittler RC, 219-Keon, 222-Plante, 231-Sawchuk, 236-Orr AS, 248-Orr AW and 249-Orr AW. The majority of the cards included are in the range of VG-EX/EX to EX with some lesser and better examples included and not many cards with creases included but a small portion have some including 131-Perreault RC, 15-Hull and 252-Orr AW.
1971-72 O-Pee-Chee near complete card set (248/264); set is missing 16 cards, most of which are the better cards, cards missing for completion are; 20-Esposito, 35-Bucyk, 37-Delvecchio, 45-Dryden RC, 65-Sanderson, 80-Keon, 100-Orr, 111-Checklist, 114-Clarke, 115-Hodge, 143-Savard, 148-Lafleur RC, 186-Horton, 245-Orr AW, 251-Orr AS and 252-Tremblay AS. A wide scope of grades are present including cards which are G, VG, VG-EX and some VG-EX/EX and EX are also present. Some of the better cards included which are in low grade include; 133-Dionne RC, 40-Park, 60-Perreault, 125-Mikita, 261-Hull AS, 262-Howe "Mr. Hockey", 263-Beliveau "Le Gros Bill" and 264-Checklist. Also included are eleven of the 22 booklets.
1979-80 O-Pee-Chee near complete card set (371/396); set is missing 25 cards; 1, 2, 3, 4, 18-Gretzky RC, 48, 97, 99, 153, 237, 262, 287 and 334 to 346 inclusively. A mix of grades is found throughout the near set but with the majority of the cards appearing to be mid-grade or so. Also included are about 800 extras in a mix of grades with nothing destined for the pro graders.
