Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Just the second time that the game was played outside the United States, the 1991 MLB All-Star Game took place at Toronto's SkyDome on July 9th, with just over 52,000 in attendance. The American League doubled-up on the National League 4-2, with Cal Ripken Jr. earning the MVP. This original seat from the game has been signed by Ripken Jr. Just 1 of 4 examples created for the All-Star Game and obtained directly from a Blue Jays staff member, the seat was located next to right field, with Ripken Jr. signing immediately after the game. A folding model with metal blue base and blue padded seat cushion, the back rest is in white and sports the logo for the 1991 All-Star Game, with Ripken Jr. signing over the left side in blue marker, with the signature bleeding into the material. There is a small area of red paint transfer just above the signature, with the seat in otherwise like-new condition.
These seats were located right next to the field for the 1991 MLB All Star Game. At the conclusion of the All Star Game a Toronto Blue Jays staffer had Cal Ripken sign the seat back as he was voted the MVP of the All Star Game. The seat was obtained directly from a Toronto Blue Jay staff person.
