Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Utterly dominated by the Soviet Union, with 125 medals won including 49 gold, the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal was the first Games to be held in Canada, and so far, the only Summer Olympics hosted in The Great White North. We have a small group of items featuring the 1976 Games. Included, we have a near-complete Panini sticker album (missing approx 13 stickers), with stickers present for Jesse Owens, Cassius Clay, Bruce Jenner, Nadia Comaneci and others. There is wear to the covers and spine. Next, we have an official medallion for the Games in the original case with the Olympic rings. At 2" in diameter, a raised skyline of the city is shown on the obverse with "XXI Olympiad Montreal 1976", with the Olympic Stadium on the reverse. A small pamphlet listing the medallion's details is also included. This is followed by a trio of paper weights. Each is a small piece of square marble with metal pieces mounted on top, with each showing a different Olympic design.
