Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Marking the second time Canadian company Parkhurst had released a set of hockey cards, the 1952-53 assembly would have been considered a set up at the time being larger than the cards released the year prior and with full sized images of players with information gracing the reverse while the checklist held consistent at 105 cards, highlighted by the RC of a young defenseman by the name of Tim Horton. Presented here, we offer this group of ten (10) cards from the 1952-53 Parkhurst release which have all been graded by either PSA or KSA. Including key cards such as those of #53 Dollard St. Laurent RC (KSA NM 7), #10 Dickie Moore RC (KSA EX 5), #12 Gerry McNeil (KSA NM 7), and #31 Al Rollins (PSA NM-MT 8), the rest of the lot includes the likes of #38 James McFadden (KSA NM 7), #43 James Thomson (KSA NM+ 7.5), #48 Tod Sloan (KSA NM 7), #65 Tony Leswick (KSA NM+ 7.5), #77 John McIntyre RC (KSA NM 7) and #97 John Stoddard RC (KSA NM 7), all the holders remain in overall good condition but do show some scratches and scuffs that is worth mentioning for accuracy.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this lot through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
