Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Ottawa native Erskine Ronan, identified on this C55 beauty as “Skein” and in the record books as “Skene”. No matter, the boy could play and was known for jumping contract, playing for teams in Pittsburgh and Toronto and then in the National Hockey Association for Haileybury, Renfrew, Ottawa and Montreal, winning the Stanley Cup with the Canadiens in 1915-16. And get this, although depicted in his Renfrew sweater here, Ronan in 1911-12 lined up with the Ottawa Senators and led the entire NHA with 35 goals in 18 games! A swell treasure to hold and behold while contemplating hockey before the formation of the NHL with Ronan's rookie card showing an VG 3 assessment from PSA.
