Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025

The man who's silhouette was used for the NBA's famous logo, Jerry West is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. A 14-time NBA All-Star, West was the scoring champion in 1970, the NBA Finals MVP in 1969 and an NBA champion in 1972. Inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980 and going on to win eight (8) more NBA championships as an executive, offered here is this copy of West's sought after rookie card from Fleer's 1961-62 basketball release. Pictured over the bottom portion of the front via a black and white image while "Forward - Jerry West" is seen above with a Lakers logo and "Los Angeles Lakers" above that. Retaining excellent colours and what appears to be decent corners, relatively pleasing centering, smooth edges and fairly clean surfaces, the card has been inspected by the graders at KSA who have deemed it worthy of an EX 5 designation. Housed in an excellent condition KSA holder that shows just light imperfections over both sides, don't miss out on this one for your advanced rookie card portfolio!
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this lot through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
