Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
A nice little grouping that allows you to add some vintage baseball action from the likes of Topps and Fleer that dates to the 1950s and 1960s to your collection is up for grabs here, paced by a solid group of cards from Topps' 1957 baseball release that totals out to ninety-three cards in all. Including a lot of duplication throughout but still presenting with some star power, the included cards all fall between numbers 177 and 263 on the checklist except for one (1) which is worth noting for accuracy. For the key cards, included are examples of 200-McDougald (VG-EX to EX - light corner wear), 210-Campanella (EX to EX-MT - very slight corner wear), 230-Kell (EX to EX-MT - tiny ding to the bottom left corner), 240-Bauer (EX to EX-MT - slight corner wear), 250-Matthews (x2 - one around EX to EX-MT with slight corner wear and the other roughly PR to FR due to creases) and 262-Thomson (VG-EX to EX - ding to top left corner and off-center). Also including a copy of card #461 from the 1959 Topps set that is titled "Thrills - Mantle Hits 42nd Homer For Crown", the cardboard featuring the Mick is found to be in the overall condition range of FR to G due to creases. For the rest of the collection, featuring a quintet of PSA graded cards that includes examples of; Arnie Risen (1957 Topps Basketball - PSA VG-EX 4), Pete Rose (1970 Topps Baseball - PSA GOOD 2), Tom Seaver (1973 Topps Baseball - PSA NM 7), Derek Jeter (1993 Bowman Baseball - PSA MINT 9) and Alex Rodriguez (1994 SP Baseball - Foil - PSA NM-MT 8). All housed in overall excellent condition PSA holders, the lot concludes with; two (2) cards from 1953 Topps Baseball (#78 Schoendienst and #109 Dark - both with back damage), a single card from 1955 Topps Doubleheader (#125/126 Rip Repulski/Ted Lepcio - G to VG - has a side to side crease), six (6) other cards from the 1959 Topps Baseball set that are mostly low-grade examples, a copy of the AL Pitching Leaders card #48 from the 1961 Topps Baseball release and finally, 1963 Fleer Baseball cards of #10 Landis and #17 Siebern that are both around G to VG.
