Beginning his hockey career as a junior coach in his native Finland in the mid-1970s and going on to do things such as scout in the National Hockey League, work in marketing in SM-Liiga, work in the equipment industry of Canada and Germany, serve as director of public relations and marketing for the International Ice Hockey Federation, serve as general secretary of the 2012 IIHF World Championship and 2013 IIHF World Championship, work in events with the Finnish Ice Hockey Association and finally, serve as chairman of the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame from 2011 to 2018, offered here, with everything hailing directly from his personal collection, is this grouping of NHL and IIHF memorabilia that includes things like jerseys, pennants, patches and more. Led off by a pro on-ice model Team Canada jersey of Mario Lemieux from the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, the Nike made offering sports size "52" brand and "IIHF Authentic Collection" labels affixed to the inner collar while the front and both shoulders feature a mix of heritage alternate and primary Hockey Canada team crests that displays with embroidered details throughout their entirety. Featuring a fight strap and reinforced elbows on the interior, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Lemieux's number "66" in tackle twill numerals while "Lemieux" is spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse. Sporting the captain's "C" over the left breast and an IIHF logo patch over the reverse hem, the jersey is found to be in excellent condition overall with no flaws to make note of. Also including a gold coloured money clip from the 1972 NHL All-Star Game in Minnesota, a 1982 Hockey Hall of Fame dinner medallion that is housed in its original case which shows some minor surface wear and tarnishing, a Royal Canadian Mint Hockey Hall of Fame 2001 Induction medallion set that remains in its original packaging, a group of four (4) Canadian quarters celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Stanley Cup, four (4) Hockey Hall of Fame patches measuring 3" in diameter, one (1) Hockey Hall of Fame patch measuring 4" in diameter and one (1)_2014 Hockey Hall of Fame Game jersey patch that measures 4" in diameter, the rest of the collection includes various hockey pennants from the 1960s to the 1990s that includes notables such as WHA mini pennants of Toronto, New England, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles that are all strung together, a Saskatoon Quakers banner from 1965 with a fringe bottom, 1970s pennants measuring roughly 29 1/2" of the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers (x2) and finally, 1990s pennants of teams such as Edmonton (signed by Esa Tikkanen), Hartford, Ottawa, Los Angeles, Florida, Detroit, Boston, Anaheim and Tampa Bay. Also including examples of the Long Beach IceDogs and Springfield Falcons, the pennants display well while featuring things such as pin holes, folds/creases, toning and light staining in some cases. All of the other items remain in excellent condition unless noted otherwise. A Classic Auctions LOA will accompany the group.
