Playing in the Western Hockey League of the CHL between 1977-78 and 1986-87 before relocating to Lethbridge, Alberta and becoming the Hurricanes, the Calgary Wranglers enjoy their best season during the 1980-81 campaign, going all the way to the WHL Finals. Owning an alumni list that includes the likes of Mike Vernon, Mark Tinordi, Doug Houda and others, offered here is this vintage Calgary Wranglers game-worn jersey that dates to the 1984-85 season and is attributed to have been worn by goaltender Chris Churchill. Made by CCM and featuring a size "XL" Ultrafil label affixed to the inner collar overtop of an also affixed born-on date tag reading "84 07", the CCM logo is found screened on over the reverse hem. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a Wranglers team crest in layered tackle twill that also exhibits chain-stitched details, the City of Calgary's centennial crest is still attached over the right breast. Accented over the sleeves and verso with the number "1" in dual layer white-over-red tackle twill numerals, the shoulders both have had dual layer tackle twill stars done in matching style individually sewn to them while the nameplate that was once in place over the upper reverse is no longer affixed, leaving an outline of its former placement. Retaining a loop style fight strap on the interior of the jersey, game-wear is observed via puck marks over the front and both sleeves plus fabric snags/pilling througout the exterior, heaviest over the lower front and both sleeve ends from rubbing against goalie equipment.
