Playing the entirety of his junior career in Kamloops as a member of either the Junior Oilers or Blazers, Mark Kachowski would help the club to Memorial Cup tournament appearances in both 1984 and 1986. Undrafted but going on to play a total of sixty-four (64) games in the National Hockey League with the Pittsburgh Penguins, offered here is this Blazers jersey worn by Kachowski during the 1984-85 season, their first year using the name. A mesh construction offering made by Alpha, the brand label once affixed to the inner collar is pretty much all gone other than a few tattered threads that are still affixed. Measuring out to roughly a size "50" for its effort and having had an Alpha brand logo heat pressed on over the reverse hem, a Jardine's patch, a team sponsor of the era, is seen sewn on over the opposite side. Decorated over the front of the jersey is a screened on Blazers logo that runs diagonally across the chest, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Kachowski's number "15" in screened on dual layer white-over-orange numerals. With the nameplate removed by the team after the season that the jersey was worn in, it is important to note that according to former equipment manager, Spike Wallace, the team utilized these jerseys for practice from roughly 1985 to 1988. Retaining a coin style fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows evidence of the once in place nameplate over the upper reverse as well as game-wear via things such as stick marks, unrepaired holes, board burns and coloured paint transfers throughout, with the heaviest concentration of wear found over the sleeves. Also showing some staining throughout, good pilling is found on the interior.
