Hailing from a season in which the Montreal Canadiens would win their fourth of five straight Stanley Cup championships from 1956-60, up for grabs here is this near-complete assembly of Parkhurst’s 1958-59 release and featuring classic Original Six star power from both of the NHL’s Canadian franchises. Found to be in a range of conditions throughout its entirety and missing only those of 7-"Armstrong Breaks Through" and 32-Bonin while the key cards include those of 2-H. Richard (EX - slight surface and corner wear), 11-Plante IA (EX - small amount of surface wear), 16-Backstrom RC (VG-EX to EX - small dings to the top two corners), 21-Plante IA (VG-EX to EX - small dings to the right side corners), 22-Plante (FR to G - crease and rounded corners), 26-Plante IA (FR to G - discoloured), 33-Mahovlich (EX - slight corner and surface wear), 34-Beliveau (EX to EX-MT - very slight corner wear), 35-Canadiens IA (EX - slight corner wear), 38-M. Richard (VG-EX to EX - wear to the top border and light corner wear), 42-Horton (GOOD - light crease at top left), 46-Bower (FR to G - large crease at top left), 48-Armstrong (G to VG - wax stain over the reverse) and 49-Harvey (EX - very small ding over bottom right). For the rest of the set, included are ten (10) cards seen as EX to EX-MT, nine (9) cards seen as VG-EX to EX, five (5) cards are around VG to VG-EX, two (2) cards are in the scope of G to VG, one (1) card is around FR to G and finally, seven (7) cards present as PR to F. A wonderful trip down memory lane to the golden era of the National Hockey League awaits our lucky winning bidder.
