A chance to score a sextet of near-complete and complete classic O-Pee-Chee offerings from the period of the late-1970s and early-1980s is offered here, through these assemblies of the company's hockey releases that date from 1978-79 to 1984-85. All featuring a total of 396-cards in their checklists and starting with the oldest of the six (6) sets, the 1978-79 release presents with 395 of the 396 cards in the checklist present and accounted for (card #259 Checklist is missing) and is found to be in the overall condition range of VG to VG-EX with the star cards throughout presenting in a condition range that is consistent with the rest of the set, including those of Dryden, Lafleur, Bossy RC, Federko RC, Orr (which is creased), Wilson RC, Sutter RC and Taylor RC. Of note, all the star players mentioned above do show expected corner wear that is worth pointing out for accuracy, as is the fact that the set is housed in binder pages with with price stickers over top of most of the cards. Additionally, most of the team checklists are marked. Moving on to the 1980-81 release, another near-complete offering that includes 395 of the 396 cards (card #87, the all-star card of Wayne Gretzky is missing) that make up a complete checklist, the contingent largely presents between VG-EX to EX and EX to EX-MT for its effort, with the rookie card of Mark Messier around EX to EX-MT and the 2nd year card of Wayne Gretzky in the scope of VG-EX to EX. Also including the RC's of Ray Bourque (bad corners), Mike Gartner (crease) and Michel Goulet (EX to EX-MT), the set also includes the Oilers team checklist card that shows Gretzky over the front of it, which has a crease through it that is worth pointing out, as is the fact that the set is housed in binder pages with prices stickers atop of most of the cards. Additionally, some of the team checklist cards are marked. For the 1981-82 set, complete with all 396-cards in the checklist present and accounted for, the stars and rookies found throughout are seen as being in the overall condition range of EX to EX-MT on average with the exceptions being card #1 of Ray Bourque, which is miscut and shows corner wear, and card #106 of Wayne Gretzky, which is creased. Moving on to the 1982-83 set, once again complete with all 396-cards present and accounted for, the stars and rookies are seen as being in the condition scope of EX-MT to NM, including those of Hawerchuk RC, Messier, Gretzky, Fuhr RC, Francis RC, Mullen RC and Gretzky IA. Next, for the 1983-84 release, near-complete 395 of the 396 cards present and accounted for, the set is seen as being in the overall condition range of EX-MT to NM throughout the majority of its entirety, including for all the key stars and rookies, such as those of Scott Stevens RC, Guy Carbonneau RC, Mark Messier, Wayne Gretzky and the Messier/Gretzky HL example. Of note, the set is missing the rookie card of Pelle Lindbergh and the rookie card of Mats Naslund is a bit worse off condition wise, falling closer to EX to EX-MT for its effort. Finally, the lot is concluded with a complete set from 1984-85 that features 396-cards in all. With the stars and rookies all presenting in the range of EX-MT to NM for there efforts, this includes the likes of Gretzky, Chelios RC, Neely RC, Gilmour RC, LaFontaine RC and Andreychuk RC while the first year card of Yzerman is closer to EX-MT. Additionally, the card of Ray Bourque sports a crease.
