Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Released during the final years of the National Hockey League's "Original Six" era as well as the onset of the league's "Expansion" era as well, offered here is this collection of ten (10) graded Topps hockey cards that date between 1957-58 and 1969-70. Paced in terms of age by the 1957-58 rookie card of Andy Hebenton that has been assessed a mark of ENM 6 by KSA, half of the group, five (5) cards in total hail from Topps' 1960-61 release, which include the likes of all-time greats such as Lester Patrick (KSA ENM 6), Georges Vezina (KSA VG 3), Cyclone Taylor (PSA VG-EX 4) and Howie Morenz (KSA VGE 4) plus Gump Worsley (PSA VG 3). Concluded with 1961-62 Topps cards of Andre Pronovost (PSA NM-MT 8 - "OC" qualifier) and Leo Boivin (KSA NMM 8), the final two (2) cards present are the 1967-68 Topps "All-Star" card of Tim Horton (PSA VG 3) and the 1969-70 Topps card of Jacques Laperriere (PSA NM+ 7.5). All housed for preservation in either PSA or KSA holders, all show scratches and scuffs that are worth mentioning for accuracy.
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
