Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
A bevy of neat offerings for you to consider here including items from the world of Canadian Football through a near-complete set of 1962 Topps CFL Football cards and the National Hockey League via a set of six (6) 1965-65 First "All-Star Team" photos from Weekend Magazine and a Maurice Richard signed 1997-98 Pinnacle Beehive 5" x 7" oversized card. Starting with the 1962 Topps CFL assembly, featuring 137 of the 169 cards that make up the checklist and released during a season that saw the Winnipeg Blue Bombers win their fourth (4th) Grey Cup championship in a span of five (5) years and the second (2nd) of back-to-back titles, all the cards are found in a lower grade state due to having a pen mark over their top on the front or top on the reverse as well as other attributes of lower grade cards including creasing, edge/corner wear and centering issues. Missing #'s 1, 2, 30, 74, 80, 91, 93, 100, 102, 106, 109, 110, 116, 124, 130, 131, 133, 135, 136, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, 145, 146, 147, 150, 151, 162, 164 and 165 for completion, all the team checklist cards that are present and accounted for have been marked. Next, for the Weekend Magazine 1965-66 First "All-Star Team" photo set, six (6) pictures each measuring 14 1/2" x 10 1/2" overall are included, picturing names such as Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Jacques Laperriere, Pierre Pilote and Glenn Hall, shot through the lens of renowned staff photographer Frank Prazak. Found in their original mailing envelope which remains in overall good condition for its age, all the photos are in excellent condition, retaining beautiful colours and showing just light-to-moderate toning. Finally, for the oversized Richard card from the 1997-98 Pinnacle Beehive release, the card is found to be in overall excellent condition for its effort and has been signed over the front by Richard with a crisp black marker ink signature that displays without issue.
