Drafted 2nd overall in the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft by the Kansas City Scouts, the first player selected by the organization, Wilf Paiement would go on to a National Hockey League career that spanned a total of 946 games with seven (7) different clubs and become known for being the last player other than Wayne Gretzky to don the number "99", occurring when he was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Offered here, we present this stick used by Paiement as a member of the Quebec Nordiques in the era of the early-1980s. A Koho made twig with Paiement's number "27" penned over the handle tape and shaft in blue marker ink, an additional number, appearing to be the "99" he wore with Toronto, is penned over the handle tape as well which has been crossed out, likely indicating the stick was used by him during the 1981-82 season with both Toronto and Quebec. Retaining its original tape job of ribbed white around the handle/knob and blade around the blade, the stick displays excellent game-use throughout via a number of dark marks and other abrasions throughout the length of the shaft and heel while coloured board and post paint transfers are also present throughout as well. Additionally, white paint marks exist over the lower shaft and some wear is seen over the bottom of the blade/heel.
