This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
After a season without hockey cards, kids and others must have been excited/smiling when they first saw Parkhurst packs in stores in 1957, with the Canadiens and Maple Leafs featured and Maurice Richard appearing on wax pack display boxes. Offered here in complete set from with all fifty (50) cards that make up the checklist present and accounted for, is this assembly of Parkhurst's 1957-58 hockey card release. Falling mostly between the condition ranges of VG to VG-EX up to EX to EX-MT with some cards a bit better and some a bit worse off, it is important to note that Canadiens card #18 of Marcel Bonin has paper loss on its reverse which is worth mentioning for accuracy. For the key cards, and starting with the Montreal offerings, included are the likes of 1-Harvey (GOOD - crease at top right and wear to the bottom corners), 2-Geoffrion (VG-EX to EX - wear to the top left corner and light wax staining over the surface), 3-Beliveau (EX-MT - slight corner wear all the way around), 4-H. Richard RC (EX to EX-MT - print line on the surface), 5-M. Richard (EX-MT - top border discoloured) and 15-Plante (VG-EX to EX - light surface and corner wear) while the key Maple Leafs include those of 1-Armstrong (EX to EX-MT - light corner wear and a small red print mark on the surface), 2-Chadwick RC (VG-EX to EX - ding to top left corner), 4-Pulford (VG to VG-EX - corner wear), 17-Mahovlich RC (EX to EX-MT - slight surface snow), 20-Baun RC (VG-EX to EX - off-center and surface marks on the reverse) and 22-Horton (VG to VG-EX - pair of tiny hairline creases). For the rest of the set, the breakdown of condition includes six (6) cards around EX-MT to NM, twelve (12) cards around EX to EX-MT, six (6) cards in the scope of VG-EX to EX, eleven (11) cards around VG to VG-EX, two (2) cards in the vicinity of G to VG and finally, a lone (1) card in the neighborhood of POOR/"AUTHENTIC".
