Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Items that celebrate the beloved 1972 Summit Series that is still widely considered the greatest international tournament in history are offered, including a Team Canada team-signed book. Included, we have a commemorative modern watch that mentions "1972 Team Canada Summit Series" on the dial along with "Henderson Esposito" and "Kharlamov Tretiak" in Cyrillic. The dial remains clean and scratch free with a small stand to display the watch. Next, there is two matching 2" series medallions - one stamped "Sterling" with the original case with gilt lettering, and one gold-coloured. This is followed by three souvenir pucks including two that are mounted to an 8" x 10" wooden plaque, while the third was produced as a souvenir for Game 3 with "Winnipeg" and the date of "Sept 6, 1972". The lot also contains a series home TV program, a Canada vs Russia mug signed by Paul Henderson, and the hardcover with dust jacket book "Team Canada 1972" signed by 24 on the first two pages in black ink including Henderson, Park, Parise, Berenson, Hadfield, Seiling, White, Ellis, Johnston, Dionne, Cashman, Glennie, Mikita, Awrey, Hull, Redmond, Savard, Gilbert, P. Esposito, Lapointe, the Mahovlich brothers, Stapleton and Guevremont. The signatures present beautifully, with a team photo of Team Canada above. A COA will accompany for the signatures.
