Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
Still largely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all-time (and rightfully so in this writer’s opinion), Michael Jordan would win a total of six (6) NBA Championships during his 15-year career as well as Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 1984 and 1992. One of the biggest brands in the world, Jordan would be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009 (for his individual career) and 2010 (as part of the 1992 Olympic Team). Offered here, we present this shoe signed by Jordan. A Nike Air Jordan 12 example dubbed the "cherry" colourway based on the red and white colours found throughout its entirety, the shoe is a player exclusive/issued example based on the "330557" found on the label affixed to the interior which either matches or is in close range of other game-worn Jordan 12 sneakers that have come to market. Retaining its original shoe lace and insole and sporting Michael's famed number "23" over the heel, Jordan has signed over the outside of the ankle with a large black marker ink signature that display well despite a slight amount of fading/smudging. Showing light wear through some minor wear, including a scuff over the heel area, a JSA Auction LOA will accompany the shoe, as well as a plastic display case which includes a gold coloured metal plaque that reads "Michael Jordan - Game Worn Shoe". Of note, the case in overall good condition and measures 14 1/2" x 8 1/2" though it is unknown if the shoe was actually ever worn by Jordan during a game.
