Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
The star of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, Jesse Owens famously won four of the United States twenty-four gold medals (Germany won the most with thirty-eight), dominating the 100 meters, long jump, 200 meters, and 4 × 100-meter relay. We have a typed "Biographical Data of Jesse Owens" page inscribed and signed by the historic sprinter, set in a wonderful 1936 Berlin Olympics framed display. The typed page is centered with photos on both sides, with Owens signing in black ink, adding "To Richard Best of Luck" along with "36 Olympics". The attractive 27 1/2" x 36" frame has "Jesse Owens" in raised letters along with "XI Olympiad Berlin 1936". A JSA LOA that mentions the inscription is penned in Owens hand is affixed to the reverse of the frame.
