The 7th overall draft choice in 1983 and appearing for seven different NHL clubs throughout his 1,000+ contests, Russ Courtnall also represented Canada, including at the World Championships, Canada Cup and Winter Olympics. Putting up a pair of points in eight (8) games played during the 1991 Canada Cup, the final edition of the tournament before it was replaced by the World Cup of Hockey five (5) years later, offered here is this photo-matched Team Canada jersey worn by Courtnall during the fruitful tournament. Made by CCM, both size "52" and Maska Air-Knit labels are affixed to the inner collar while the CCM logo has been embroidered into the reverse hem. Decorated over the front with a rubberized Team Canada crest and sleeve emblems that display with heavy cracking and wear throughout their entirety, a Labatts "Coupe Canada Cup" sponsorship patch appears over the right breast. Having been accented with Courtnall's number "6" on the reverse in single layer white tackle twill numeral, "Courtnall" is spelt out in matching white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate over the top of the back. Exhibiting clear and good game-use, stick marks are present over the lower front as well as both sleeves, which also display with numerous board burns as well. Retaining a fight strap on the interior and some pilling on the interior or both sleeves, the jersey has been photo-matched to an image of Courtnall taken during the tournament which shows a match to the wear in the maple leaf over the left sleeve and the stick mark found directly underneath it.
Also coming with a stick attributed to have been used by Courtnall during the tournament, the twig is a wooden Sher-Wood P.M.P. 7000 model example that retains its original ribbed white tape job around the handle/knob and black wrapped around the blade. Still featuring a foil NHL shield accent sticker around the bottom of the shaft and displaying a date stamp appearing to read "29 AOUT 1991" underneath the fiberglass layers on the underside of the blade near the heel, "Courtnall" is found stamped over the upper shaft. Displaying light but clear game-use, a number of dark marks are seen over the shaft, with the heaviest concentration found over the lower portion of it, the blade tape also shows marks over both sides that are worth mentioning for accuracy.
