A veteran of 794 National Hockey League games as a member of the esteemed Montreal Canadiens where he won a total of five (5) Stanley Cup championships, J.C. Tremblay would jump ship to the upstart World Hockey Association and the Quebec Nordiques for the 1972-73 season, with the team negotiating with the Los Angeles Sharks for his rights. Becoming Quebec's first real star player and playing with the club in all seven (7) years that they played in the WHA, Tremblay would lead the club to an AVCO Cup championship in 1977. Elected as an inaugural member to the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2010, offered here is this jersey worn by Tremblay during the WHA's first ever all-star contest on January 6, 1973 on home ice in Quebec City. A lightweight mesh construction offering that features Gerry Cosby's, size "48" and washing instructions labels all affixed to the inner collar, the front of the jersey is decorated with a heat screened "WHA" team crest while red and blue single layer tackle twill stars appear sewn on above it. Also sporting red and blue heat screened on stars and stripes over the sleeves and bottom part of the body on both sides, Tremblay's number "3" has been sewn on over the reverse via a single layer blue twill numeral while the single layer red twill letters spelling out the misspelt "Trembley" at the top of the reverse have been sewn on directly to the material at the top of the reverse. Void a fight strap on the interior, the jersey shows game-wear through a stick mark over the front and red coloured transfer marks, likely from the stripes or the boards, over the front as well as the right sleeve over the elbow area. Additionally, some light fraying is seen inside the reverse hem and a board burn is present over the reverse to the right of the "3".
