A product of the Ontario Hockey League's Sudbury Wolves who was drafted 43rd overall by the New Jersey Devils at the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Pat Verbeek would go on to play twenty (20) years in the National Hockey League with the likes of New Jersey, Hartford, New York, Dallas and Detroit. A two-time NHL All-Star and a Stanley Cup champion in 1999 with Dallas, offered here is this stick used by Verbeek as a member of the Stars during his final NHL season of 2001-02. A Mission Flyweight model offering with "Verbeek" stamped over the stem of the inserted wooden blade, the stick retains its original tape job of white-cloth-over-black around the handle/knob while the original black blade tape is still in place over the blade. Signed by Verbeek with a silver marker ink signature over the forehand side of the blade that displays without issue, Verbeek has added an annotation reading "To My Good Friend Ronnie" in matching ink. Showing game-wear via a number of marks and abrasions throughout the length of the shaft, lower shaft and blade stem, both sides of the blade tape also show a handful of light marks are well. Coming from the personal collection of former WHA and NHL referee Ron Fournier, the stick comes accompanied by a Classic Auctions LOA.
