Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2025
A mixed bag of vintage pucks is offered mostly from the 1970s and totaling 13. Included, there are three - two red and one green - WHA Philadelphia Blazers inaugural home opener pucks from Oct 13, 1972, with these given to fans. These are noteworthy as many were used as projectiles and thrown onto the ice when the fans were informed that the game would have to be rescheduled due to the Zamboni's weight cracking the ice after it was formed improperly. Both pucks are in like-new condition. Next, there are five Phil Esposito "National" NHA pucks, including two with facsimile signatures, two with his name printed, and one without his name. The Rally Bobby Orr pucks have facsimile signatures with blank backs, with one puck blue, the other black. The Summit Series puck was a souvenir issued shortly after the tournament, with the scores for each of the games on the reverse. Rounding out the lot, there is a vintage Pittsburgh Penguins puck and a "Paddock Pools" Detroit Saints puck.
