Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Long thought to have been issued by Laval Dairy, (likely because of the “Courtoisie Laiterie Laval” that appears on the #1 card featuring Jean Beliveau) are cards like these, with Bedard & Donaldson the actual company responsible for the (blank-backed) cards that feature players from the Quebec Senior Hockey League during the 1951-52 and 1952-53 seasons of play. Offered here, we present this collection of Laval Dairy QSHL cards that includes six (6) from the 1951-52 release and thirteen (13) from 1952-53, all of which have been graded by PSA. Starting with the examples from 1951-52, included are those of #8 Robert Hayes (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 4 - Highest Graded), #19 Roland Hebert (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 6 - Highest Graded), #45 Thomas McDougall (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 7 - Only 3 Graded Higher), #85 Gerry Plamondon (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 3 - Only 3 Graded Higher), #88 Rolland Rousseau (PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 - POP 2 - Highest Graded) and #97 Louis Denis (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 1 - Only 1 Graded Higher). Moving on to the cards from the 1952-53 update series, included within these are the examples of #14 Frank Mario (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Highest Graded), #15 Danny Nixon (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Highest Graded), #39 Robert Drainville (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Only 1 Graded Higher), #50 Gilles Dube (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 1 - Highest Graded), #52 Bob Pepin (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Only 1 Graded Higher), #53 Dewar Thompson (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 3 - Only 1 Graded Higher), #59 Nelson Podolsky (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Highest Graded), #84 Tom Smelle (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 1 - Highest Graded), #90 Bernie Lemonde (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Highest Graded), #94 Jean-Claude LeBrun (PSA MINT 9 - POP 1 - Highest Graded - Mislabeled "1951"), #110 Red Johnson (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 2 - Only 1 Graded Higher), #115 Roger Bedard (PSA NM-MT 8 - POP 1 - Highest Graded) and #118 Dick Wray (PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 - POP 1 - Highest Graded). Also including a PSA EX 5 copy of card #56 from the 1951-52 Bas Du Fleuve release that pictures Mario Senecal over its front, out of the group of cards being offered, twelve (12) are the highest graded examples to ever come from PSA. All housed in good condition PSA holders which show some scratches and scuffs that are worth mentioning, don't miss out on this seldom seen bundle of high-grade gems.
