The name Schenley is synonymous with Canadian Football League excellence. The Schenley Awards were created in 1953 to honor the league’s most outstanding player, with awards for the most outstanding Canadian player, most outstanding rookie and most outstanding offensive lineman subsequently added to CFL annual honors. Offered are five silver-plated CFL Schenley Awards dinner service pieces dating from 1966 to 1977, including a large circular serving tray that measures 12 ¼” in diameter and has “Trophees Schenley Awards, 25 1953-1977, Montreal 1977” engraved in the middle of its elaborately detailed dish. “Schenley Canadian Football Awards” is engraved on an oval serving dish that measures 7 1/4" x 11 1/2", also with elaborate detailing on the tray. Two serving lidded serving dishes with handle each have “Schenley Canadian Football Awards 1966” engraved on their respective lids. They are each 5 ½” x 7 ½”, one of which has a scratch and slight ding on the left side of the lid. Rounding out the collection is an oval lidded serving dish with “Schenley Canadian Football Awards 1967” engraved on its two-handled lid that measures 11” x 9” at its longest and widest.
