Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A charter member of the National Hockey League that set up shop way beforehand in 1909, the Montreal Canadiens lay claim to the most Stanley Cup championships in NHL history with a total of twenty-four (24) and have had some of the best players in the history of the game to don their famed bleu, blanc et rouge. Featuring some of the best players to ever wear the "CH" crest over their chest, offered here is this quartet of Montreal rookie cards that includes examples of Rod Langway (1980-81 O-Pee-Chee), Chris Chelios (1984-85 O-Pee-Chee) and Guy Carbonneau (1983-84 O-Pee-Chee and 1983-84 Vachon). All signed with a mix of blue and black marker ink signatures that display without issue, all four (4) autographs have been deemed to be "authentic" by Beckett, who have also given grades of "10" to the Carbonneau O-Pee-Chee and Chelios examples. Of note, the other two (2) autographs have not been graded nor have any of the four (4) cards themselves. All housed in Beckett holders that remain in overall excellent condition, the cards themselves show flaws such as corner and edge wear, centering issues and toning in some cases.
