Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
A product of Jokerit and HIFK Helsinki in his native Finland who would go undrafted, Kevin Lankinen would sign with the Chicago Blackhawks during the summer of 2018 and has gone on to play over 100 games in the National Hockey League thus far in his career, suiting up with the likes of Chicago, Nashville and Vancouver to date. Helping Team Finland to a gold medal at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, in which he posted the lowest GAA of the tournament, offered here is this stick used by Lankinen as a member of HIFK Helsinki in SM-Liiga during the 2017-18 season before coming over to North America. A CCM Pro model twig with "Lanenkin" factory graphics over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original tape job of white-over-black around the knob, white around the handle, white around the lower shaft and top of the paddle and white around the blade. With the top of the paddle shaped to Lankinen's liking, the stick shows good game-use via various marks, puck marks and abrasions throughout the shaft, paddle and blade while a small chip is seen at the edge of the backside of the lower shaft. Additionally, red post paint transfer marks are found over the upper shaft and both sides of the blade tape display puck marks.
