Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Always a hobby favourite and featuring a groovy array of colours as well as a strong group of National Hockey League star power, up on the block this time is this grouping of cards from Topps' forever popular 1971-72 hockey release that have all been individually signed by the player featured over the front. Paced by a group of six (6) cards featuring the images and autographs of men enshrined into the Hockey Hall of Fame, those present include Dave Keon, Bernie Parent, Johnny Bucyk, Alex Delvecchio, Norm Ullman and Bob Pulford. Also featuring a group of deceased players that includes the likes of Gary Bergman, Keith Magnuson, Bill White, Jim Neilson, Ralph Backstrom, Eddie Shack, Jim Pappin, Jim Roberts, Fred Stanfield, Andre Boudrias, Charlie Burns, Carol Vadnais, Jim Johnson, Tom Webster and Ross Lonsberry, the rest of the group includes signed cards of Ernie Wakely, Doug Roberts, Pete Mahovlich, Dennis Hull, Mike Pelyk, Dale Tallon, Mickey Redmond, Cesare Maniago, Mike Robitaille, Jim Lorentz, Bryan Hextall, Gilles Villemure, Doug Barrie, Andre Lacroix, Jim McKenny, Christian Bordeleau, Denis DeJordy, Jude Drouin, Bert Marshall, Walt Tkaczuk, Bob Berry, Jean Pronovost, Wayne Cashman and Reggie Leach (PSA VG 3). All signed with a mix of blue, red and black marker ink as well as blue and black ballpoint pen ink in some cases, the cards are found to be in overall good condition for their efforts with some showing heavier wear than others, mostly found at the corners and edges while the signatures largely present well and are vivid though some show some fading from age. Of note, these cards were autographed at various times/venues and while we checked the signatures and all seem authentic, this lot is offered "AS IS" and no returns will be accepted.
