Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024

Going undrafted after playing his junior career with the Beauport Harfangs and Rimouski Oceanic, Derrick Walser would win a Calder Cup with the AHL's Saint John Flames during the 2000-01 season and go on to play ninety-one (91) games in the NHL as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets. A veteran of over 400 games in the American Hockey League, offered here is this jersey worn by Walser as a member of the Canadian AHL All-Stars at the 2008 AHL All-Star Game in Binghamton, New York. Made by Reebok, both Reebok/AHL and size "56" labels are affixed to the inner collar while Reebok logo crests are in place over the reverse neck line and hem. Also sporting an AHL crest over the reverse hem and an additional Reebok logo patch over the left breast, the front of the jersey is decorated with "AHL" in layered tackle twill letters while Canadian All Stars and 2008 AHL All-Star Game patches appear over the left and right shoulders respectively. Retaining a fight strap on the interior, the sleeves and verso of the jersey have been styled with Walser's number "38" in dual layer white-over-navy tackle twill numerals. Having had "Walser" spelt out in single layer white twill letters across the affixed matching nameplate at the top of the reverse, the jersey shows no obvious signs of use other than some minor spot stains over both elbows. Additionally, Walser has signed through the "8" on the reverse with a black marker ink signature that displays without issue.
