Spending his junior hockey career with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Winnipeg Jets before signing as a free agent with the Los Angeles Kings in September of 1970, Bill Mikkelson would go on to play a total of 147 games in the National Hockey League with the likes of Los Angeles, New York and Washington while also suiting up in nearly 350 games in the American Hockey League as well. Coming from an extremely successful hockey family that has won championships at all levels of play, offered here is this AHL Baltimore Clippers jersey worn by Bill Mikkelson during the 1975-76 season, the last that the Clippers would play in the AHL. A lightweight mesh construction offering made by Rawlings, a brand label displaying a size "48" designation is affixed to the inner collar while the interior is void of a fight strap. Decorated over the front of the jersey with "Clippers" running diagonally down the chest from right-to-left in heavy dual layer black-over-orange letters, the sleeves and verso have been accented with Mikkelson's number "2" in matching style numerals while no nameplate is in place over the upper reverse, or was ever affixed. A battle tested and heavily worn example that exhibits excellent game-use, stick marks are found over the front, reverse and both sleeves, numerous team repairs, board burns and coloured board paint transfers are found over both sleeves as well. With additional wear seen via a team repair next to the "C" in "Clippers" over the front, an unrepaired cut/burn over the lower front, pilling/rubbing over the forearms/cuffs that is heavier over the right sleeve and a board burn over the reverse hem, the interior of the jersey displays with good pilling. Of note, the white areas of the jersey have slightly discoloured over time and there are some spot stains throughout that are worth noting for accuracy.
