Winning back-to-back Lady Byng Trophies in 1996 and 1997 as the League's most gentlemanly player, Paul Kariya holds numerous Anaheim Ducks and Nashville Predators team records. A veteran of 989 National Hockey League games over the course of a 15-year career, Kariya would win an Olympic gold medal in 2002 with Canada and be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017. Suiting up with the St. Louis Blues for the final three (3) seasons of his NHL career, offered here is this Blues third jersey worn by Kariya for St. Louis' NHL Premier 2009 contest in Stockholm, Sweden against the Detroit Red Wings on October 3rd, 2009. Made by Reebok and sporting a lone size "54" label affixed to the inner collar, logo patches for both the NHL and Reebok have been added over the front and reverse necklines respectively. Decorated over the front of the jersey with a circular Blues team crest that features the familiar music note as well as the Gateway Arch plus other details, everything has been done in an embroidered style. Also featuring the distinguished alternate captain's "A" over the left breast of the faux tie-neck style garment and the NHL Premier 2009 event patch atop the right breast, the sleeves and verso have been styled with Kariya's number "9" in stacked tri-layer tackle twill numerals while matching primary logo crests have been added atop of both shoulders. Retaining its original fight strap on the interior as well as a BlueNote Authentics label serial numbered "00678" heat pressed above, matching what is seen on the accompanying Blues COA, a team stamp reading "Sweden 2009" is found inside the reverse hem. Worn for just a single game, the jersey shows just very light signs of wear via a small board burn over the left elbow.
