Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
The most popular hockey card producer in Canada, while O-Pee-Chee is well known to modern collectors for their annual card sets, the company first produced hockey cards in the 1930s. Hailing from the first (1st) of five (5) releases offered by the company during the decade, offered here is this wrapper that once housed cards from O-Pee-Chee's 1933-34 release. Measuring approximately 5 1/4" x 6" in size, the wrapper features generic hockey action graphics over the top and bottom portions while the middle displays notations reading "Hockey Star Gum" as well as an original purchase price of .01 cent and another generic hockey player image. Orange and blue in colour, the wrapper still displays well for its age and shows wear via some staining and creases plus some small tears throughout the middle portion and the expected fold lines. A prime addition to any pre-war stash this will be.
