The 6th overall pick of the 1980 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers after playing his junior hockey in the OMJHL with the likes of Kingston, Sault Ste. Marie and Kitchener, Paul Coffey would suit up for a total of 1409 games in the National Hockey League between 1980 and 2001, donning the colours of Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Detroit, Hartford, Philadelphia, Chicago, Carolina and Boston. A four-time Stanley Cup champion who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2004, offered here is this stick used by Coffey during the mid-1990s. A Sher-Wood made P.M.P. 5030 SC model stick that was wielded by Coffey during his time in Detroit, Hartford and Philadelphia, the stick retains its original black tape job around the handle/knob while the blade tape that was once over the blade has long since been removed to facilitate Coffey's black marker ink signature that has been penned over the forehand side in black marker ink that displays well despite its age. Retaining an accent sticker around the bottom of the shaft and sporting a production number stamp reading "1301 50X0" over the underside of the shaft, the stick displays just very light game-wear via a few dark marks around the edges of the shaft and some minor tape residue along the top edge of the blade near the heel.
