Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Hailing from seasons that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs win their second (2nd) and third (3rd) of three (3) straight Stanley Cup championships, offered here is this lot consisting of forty-two (42) Topps cards from their 1962-63 and 1963-64 hockey releases. Starting with the cards from 1962-63, totaling out to twenty (20) in all, the group is found to be in the overall condition range of EX for its efforts except for card #27 of Elmer Vasko (stains on the reverse) and #39 of Ken Wharram (large crease). For the key cards, included are those of 24-Hall (EX-MT to NM - minor amount of wear to bottom two corners), 37-Maki RC (EX-MT to NM), 46-Howell (EX-MT - slight wear to bottom right corner) and 58-Ratelle (EX-MT - 70-30 centering). Moving on to the cards from 1963-64, totaling out to twenty-two (22) in all, the group is seen as being in the scope of EX-MT shape throughout its entirety and includes those 2-Johnson RC (x3 - one around VG to VG-EX with a tiny crease at the bottom right and two around VG-EX to EX with one sporting small scratch marks at the bottom left and one showing a miscut bottom border), 21-Bruins Team (EX to EX-MT - slight corner wear), 36-Mikita (EX to EX-MT - small ding at top right corner), 43-Black Hawks Team (EX to EX-MT - small ding at top right corner), 47-Harvey (VG-EX to EX - ding to bottom right), 52-Bathgate (EX-MT to NM) and 66-Checklist (VG to VG-EX - crease at top right and erase marks in some boxes). Bound to be a wonderful trip down memory lane to the NHL's "Original Six" golden era, don't miss out on these for your all-important vintage collection.
