This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/3/2024
Hailing from years that saw the Detroit Red Wings (1954-55) and Montreal Canadiens (1958-59 and 1959-60) dominate the National Hockey League and claim Stanley Cup championships for their respective franchises, offered here is this lot consisting of cards from the 1954-55, 1958-59 and 1959-60 Topps releases. Starting with the earliest of the three (3) years represented, the group of cards from 1954-55 comes in at eighteen (18) strong with all in a low-grade state while including the examples of 11-Bathgate, 39-Delvecchio (2) and 58-Sawchuk as well as some duplicates. For the 1958-59 group, a near-complete set with fifty-eight (58) of the sixty-six (66) cards making up the checklist present and accounted for, all the included cards are in a low-grade state due to things like crease, worn/rounded corners and other defects while among missing cards are those of 13-Hall, 39-Worsley, 40-Bucyk and 66-Bobby Hull RC. Of note, the cards of 2-Sawchuk and 42-Sloan have glue/paper residues on their backs that is worth noting for accuracy. Finally, for the group of ten (10) cards from the 1959-60 Topps release, all are found in a low-grade state while included are the examples of 48-Howe/Evans and 57-Shack among the notables.
